The text is printed single-sided on 60# opaque 8.5" x 11" paper.The State of Nebraska was only a territory at the time of the Civil War, but about 1/9th of its population joined the Union Army. This book not only records the movements of the various units and the names of their officers, but lists all of the non-commissioned officers and privates as well. There are a number of accounts of battles, such as Pittsburg Landing, a skirmish at Jacksonport, AR, and several Indians battles. The Fifth Iowa Cavalry, known as the Curtis Horse, included many Nebraska men, and an account of it is included here.
