Early days in Allegany County, Maryland, are recalled through a mixture of colorful tales, factual data, and individual biographies in this 144-page booklet, compiled from excerpts from J. Thomas Scharf's History of Western Maryland, originally published in 1882 by Louis H. Everts of Philadelphia, and Maryland, a Guide to the Old Line State, a 1940 WPA publication. The booklet is printed one-sided on 8 1/2" x 11" 60# opaque paper. The three-color front cover is an 80# card stock, protected with a vinyl sheet.
