Early days in three Tennessee counties, Anderson, Morgan and Roane, are recalled in this spiral bound booklet compiled from excerpts from the 1886 book: History of Tennessee, originally published by Goodspeed Publishing Co., and other sources. The 58-page booklet is printed one-sided on 60# paper with the print enlarged for easier reading. A vinyl sheet has been added to protect the front cover.
The county seats are: Anderson -- Clinton; Morgan -- Wartburg; Roane -- Kingston. The town of Norris, location of Norris Dam, part of the TVA project, is in Anderson County. Oak Ridge, where the atom bomb was made, is also located in Anderson County. The town was founded after the information in this booklet was written.

Brief excerpts from Counties of Tennessee by Austin P. Foster, and Tennessee, a Guide to the State, compiled and written by the Federal Writer's Project of the WPA in 1939, are included. The WPA tours are filled with historical trivia, such as a story of buried gold on the bluffs of Big Clear Creek, the prominence of the WCTU in Harriman, the story of a near duel between Andrew Jackson and John Sevier, and the naming of Mammy's Creek. Tour stops include Wartburg, Sunbright, Harriman, Oakdale, Clinton, Norris Dam, Norris, Kingston, Rockwood, Ozone, and Crab Orchard.
