of Henry Howe's Historical Collections of Ohio, the 1940 WPA book
The Ohio Guide and other hard-to-find sources. The spiral bound
booklet is printed single-sided on 60# paper, with the fine print enlarged
for easier reading.

The Howe history covers the development of this
area until about 1890, while excerpts from the WPA book, give a nostalgic
glimpse from a 1940 vantage point, including interesting historical notes,
especially as they relate to sightseeing possibilities. A brief 1933 look
at the history of newspapers in the county, short items on Buxton Tavern
and Denison College from a 1941 Ohio history, some feature articles from
the 1960s, a map showing the 88 Ohio counties and a map of 1805 Ohio are
also included.
